South West Public Health Tutorial Programme
Non-communicable disease health protection, 10th September 2009, Room LG 03, Canynge Hall, Bristol BS8 2PS

Summary of the proposed day

Aim:

To provide an overview of health protection practice as it relates to non-communicable disease issues.

Objectives:

  • To understand the role of health protection in public health practice

  • To understand the practicalities of dealing with non-communicable disease aspects of health protection

  • To understand the set-up and practices of the organisations whose role include the provision of health protection services in the UK

  • To understand how to obtain help and support when dealing with non-communicable disease aspects of health protection

NB:

We are hoping the last part of the day will be an informal question and answer session during which we could discuss issues around chemicals and radiation that have arisen as a result of work or exams.

To make the day more productive, we would be grateful if trainees could send Maya and Ada questions about non-communicable disease health protection that they would like us to discuss in advance by 5pm Monday 7th of September so we can try and find answers to your questions.
