Faculty of Public Health - Assessment Workshops FPH Assessment Workshops Trainees (StRs) began using the new, PMETB-agreed curriculum on 1 August 2007. To support trainers and training programme directors in using the new curriculum, the Faculty of Public Health will be holding another assessment workshop on 12 September 2008 (London). Workshops will cover:  the new curriculum (i.e. learning outcomes frameworks, timeline etc) Introduction to the curriculum and learning outcomes framework. Understanding how assessments link to the curriculum and learning outcomes Understanding how assessments are carried out Discussing methods of assessment Identifying how feedback is given Satisfying the learning outcomes frameworks: what sort of projects/ tasks etc would address this, what outcomes might be expected Identifying what learning outcomes mean in practice. Group work How this might be documented in the portfolio Discussing how people are interacting with the learning portfolio (StRs and trainers) the new assessment systems and record keeping (i.e. the portfolio) Discussion on the types of Assessment methods in the Guidance for Assessors documentation Including Multisource feedback – facilitating and dealing with feedback Assessment of the 'projects' identified earlier – interactive group session Would these projects be sufficient in addressing the learning outcomes? What is evidence of success and what indicates incomplete or unsatisfactory evidence?  How success would be identified How would the need for further work be identified and communicated How would this all be recorded?  Update on e-portfolio plans Dates for these workshops are: 12 September 2008 – Regents College, London.
