Half Day Workshops to Train Annual Review Of Competence Progression (ARCP) Panel Members in the Severn Deanery

The Severn Deanery is holding two workshops in order to train panel members and educational supervisors in the new process as detailed in the Gold Guide of Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP).

There are separate workshops being held at:

Severn Deanery, Deanery House, Vantage Office Park, Hambrook

Who should attend: Those who wish to be eligible to sit on ARCP panels, College Tutors, Educational Supervisors.

Delegates should attend one workshop. If you wish to attend, email vicki.stone@southwest.nhs.uk stating the date you wish to attend. Each workshop will commence with tea or coffee and will  end with lunch.

	All are half days commencing 9.30 a.m

	Thursday 4th March 2010
	Tuesday 23rd March 2010

  Aims of Workshop

 At the end of the Workshop delegates will fulfill the ‘Gold Guide’ requirements allowing them to sit on ARCP panels and be better aware of the ARCP process.

Learning Objectives

• Understand the role of the ARCP panel within the context of Specialty training.

• Have undergone ‘equality and diversity training’ and be aware of its role in ARCP panels.

• Have improved awareness of the documents used at an ARCP panel.

• Be able to discuss the ARCP panel recommendations and the decisions the panel is required to make on individual trainees.

• Be able to explain the ARCP panel process adopted by the Severn Deanery.

 Format of Workshop

It is proposed that this will be a half day workshop including short presentations.
