Devizes is a lovely historic market town within Wiltshire with some buildings dating back to the sixteenth century.
If you would like some history, the Kennet and Avon Canal Museum overlooks the canal and charts the history of the restoration of the canal. Or you can head for the Wiltshire Heritage Museum covering archaeology within Wiltshire including Avebury and Stonehenge.

It has regular farmers’ markets plus the famous Wadworth’s Brewery near the Market Place. Shire horses still make the deliveries around the town.
